Baseball Recap: Marion Local Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Marion Local walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Columbus Grove Bulldogs a 4-0 shutout on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Flyers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

Marion Local's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landyne Minton, who went 2-for-4 with one run. That's the most hits Minton has posted since back in March. Another was Isaac Moeller, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Marion Local back to even at 13-13. As for Columbus Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-9.

As of now, neither Marion Local nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
