Basketball Recap: Harvard-Westlake Comes Up Short

Harvard-Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mira Costa Mustangs. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Mira Costa was led to victory by Kylee Yeh and Kenia Bohman. Yeh posted 13 points, while Bohman went 5-for-11 on her way to 12 points and three steals. Bohman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Mira Nyman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Harvard-Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mira Costa, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Harvard-Westlake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-55 defeat against Lynwood on the 29th. As for Mira Costa, they have also already played their next matchup, a 73-53 loss against JSerra Catholic on the 29th.
