Basketball Recap: Englewood Comes Up Short

Englewood fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Harvest Community on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Harvest Community Warriors by a score of 58-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since November 28, 2023.

Despite the loss, Englewood still got an impressive performance from Prennis Alston, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 19 points and four steals. Alston has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Mitchell, who posted nine points.

Adam Lawson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Harvest Community, putting up 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lawson has scored at least a third of Harvest Community's points. Ryan Pritchard was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Englewood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Harvest Community, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Englewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 73-31 victory against River City Science Academy on the 14th. As for Harvest Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-43 loss against Eagle's View on the 14th.
