Basketball Recap: Chino Hills Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Lucy's last Wednesday, Chino Hills came back down to earth. The Chino Hills Huskies lost to the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars on the road by a 45-30 margin on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Chino Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Promise Clark posted two points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. Those 15 boards gave Clark a new career-high. Kaylee Salce was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Chino Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Chino Hills has already played their next game, a 42-34 victory against Upland on the 22nd. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 79-19 win against St. Lucy's on the 22nd.
