Recap: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Sheridan Blackhawks

The Tri-Central Trojans struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Sheridan Blackhawks had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tri-Central ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-26 walloping at the hands of Sheridan. Tri-Central has not had much luck with Sheridan recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Autumn Hurt. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Hurt scored a full 42.3% of Tri-Central's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Creason, who scored four points.

Tri-Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Kenzie Garner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sheridan, scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The game was Garner's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sadie Timme, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Tri-Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Sheridan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-Central will take on Rossville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan's road trip will continue as they head out to face Speedway at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Speedway will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
