Soccer Game Preview: Elyria vs. Avon

The Elyria Pioneers will take on the Avon Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elyria is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Elyria managed to keep up with Firelands until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pioneers lost 3-0 to the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Elyria's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Avon, on the other hand, haven't lost since September 8th and they too continued that trend. They never let Rocky River get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Monday. Considering Avon have won seven matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 10-2-3. As for Elyria, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12-2.
