Basketball Recap: Bell Takes a Loss

Bell played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Los Angeles CES Unicorns, falling 55-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 11, 2024.

Despite the loss, Bell still got an impressive performance from Hailey Serrano, who shot 57% from the field on her way to 20 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Serrano now owns an excellent 47.1% field goal percentage. Yanin Fletes also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Leading Los Angeles CES to victory were Zahara Tate and Mila Sano. Tate posted 12 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Sano put up 15 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Sano is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Nyala Clark was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

The defeat snapped Bell's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for Los Angeles CES, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Bell has already played their next game, a 67-26 loss against Garfield on the 8th. As for Los Angeles CES, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-43 defeat against Lawndale on the 8th.
