Basketball Game Preview: Woodside Wildcats vs. Sequoia Ravens

The Woodside Wildcats will face off against the Sequoia Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Saturday, Woodside came up short against Scotts Valley and fell 56-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 869th, while the Falcons are ranked 239th).

Meanwhile, Sequoia played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Burlingame, falling 54-29. The Ravens were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Sequoia's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Woodside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Woodside came out on top in a nail-biter against Sequoia in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 24-22. Will Woodside repeat their success, or does Sequoia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
