Basketball Recap: Santa Rosa Takes a Loss

Santa Rosa was the 46-31 winner over St. Vincent de Paul when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Santa Rosa Panthers took a 35-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs.

Leading St. Vincent de Paul to victory were Hailey Sarlatte and Amya Sims. Sarlatte posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three blocks, while Sims put up 12 points along with six boards and three steals. Sims has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Andrea Hartmann was another key player, putting up four points.

Santa Rosa has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. As for St. Vincent de Paul, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Rosa will take on Healdsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they will square off against Elsie Allen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
