Football Recap: Ogallala Falls to Gothenburg in First Game of Season

Ogallala had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the Gothenburg Swedes on the road by a 28-11 margin on Friday. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Swedes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Edan Cain threw for 134 yards on nine of 15 attempts. Rhys Gilmore was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards. On the ground, Sawyer Smith rushed for 67 yards.

Evan Johnson was a one-man wrecking crew For Gothenburg. as he rushed for 130 yards and two TDs.

Ogallala will challenge Broken Bow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gothenburg has already played their next matchup (against Chase County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
