Softball Recap: Tift County Beats Brookwood for Their Third Straight Win

Tift County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Brookwood Broncos on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won three contests in a row.

Lily Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tift County's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Grace Murphy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Ella Bruce was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Tift County's victory bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Brookwood, they moved to 22-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Tift County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Broncos: the pair will be back at it again later today.
