Recap: Thousand Oaks Lancers vs. Calabasas Coyotes
The Thousand Oaks Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-45 to Calabasas. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Thousand Oaks in their matchups with Calabasas: they've now lost seven in a row.
Thousand Oaks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hailey Lauritzen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Jones, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Thousand Oaks' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for Calabasas, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thousand Oaks will square off against Oaks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Oaks Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Thousand Oaks has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Calabasas, they will take on Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Westlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday.
