Basketball Recap: Eris Roberts and Arnetta Ealy Newton Secure Win for Victor Valley

After losing to Adelanto the last time they met, Victor Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Victor Valley Jackrabbits came out on top against the Adelanto Saints by a score of 51-43 on Monday.

Victor Valley was led to victory by Arnetta Ealy Newton and Eris Roberts. Ealy Newton posted 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals, while Roberts scored 17 points. The dominant performance gave Roberts a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Liarah Craft, who had four points along with eight boards and five blocks.

Victor Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adelanto only posted two assists.

When it comes to explaining why Adelanto lost, don't look at Nyomi Sanchez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dae?Ani Durio, who earned seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Victor Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Adelanto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Victor Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-32 defeat against Silverado on the 5th. Adelanto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
