Soccer Game Preview: Alisal vs. Carmel

The Alisal Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Carmel Padres at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alisal's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Things were looking good for Alisal after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Monte Vista Christian by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Carmel lost 4-1 to Pajaro Valley on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Padres can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 737th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 151st).

Carmel's goal came courtesy of Sam Enea, which was the first she's scored this season.

Carmel's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 2-5-3. As for Alisal, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
