Basketball Game Preview: Tulare Western Mustangs vs. Mission Oak Hawks

Tulare Western is 1-9 against Mission Oak since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tulare Western Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Mission Oak Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Tulare Western was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-32 to Tulare Union.

Despite the loss, Tulare Western had strong showings from Miranda Nevarez, who posted ten points and five steals, and Regina Toscano, who put up ten points along with seven boards and seven steals. Toscano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.

Meanwhile, Mission Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 42-32 to Strathmore.

Mission Oak's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Tulare Western, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Tulare Western lost to Mission Oak on the road by a decisive 40-22 margin when the teams last played on January 9th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mission Oak's Aiyana Murray, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
