Preview: Commodore Perry Panthers vs. Rocky Grove Orioles
Commodore Perry is 8-2 against Rocky Grove since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Commodore Perry Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Rocky Grove Orioles at 7:15 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 37 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Commodore Perry and nine for Rocky Grove.
Last Monday, Commodore Perry took a serious blow against Farrell, falling 59-16.
Meanwhile, Rocky Grove had to suffer through a rough 56-26 loss at the hands of Sharpsville.
Commodore Perry's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.5 points per game. As for Rocky Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Commodore Perry and Rocky Grove were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but Commodore Perry came up empty-handed after a 33-32 defeat. Can Commodore Perry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
