Softball Recap: Central Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Central barely beat Heard County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 10-2 victory on Wednesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

The win (which was Central's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Heard County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will face off against Jonesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heard County, they will take on Model at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
