It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Shawano Community had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Marinette Marines. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Shawano Community took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-12, 25-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shawano Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Hicks, who had six digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Hicks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Westphal, who had seven digs.
Shawano Community was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They are 7-2 when they serve at least ten aces.
