Basketball Game Preview: Garnet Valley Jaguars vs. Altoona Mountain Lions

The Garnet Valley Jaguars will take on the Altoona Mountain Lions on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Garnet Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mechanicsburg 52-23. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Haylie Adamski continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Garnet Valley's points. Savannah Saunders was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

Garnet Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Altoona came tearing into Friday's matchup with 20 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 49-38.

Garnet Valley pushed their record up to 27-2 with the victory, which was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points over those games. As for Altoona, their win bumped their record up to 24-2.
