Softball Recap: Hickman Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Harrison on Saturday, Hickman came back down to earth. The Kewpies came up short against the Rock Bridge Bruins on Tuesday, falling 15-8. The loss continues a trend for the Kewpies in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost seven in a row.

Mia Holt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Perkins, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Hickman's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Rock Bridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickman will host Fort Zumwalt West at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Bridge, they will welcome Helias at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
