Softball Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Loganville Christian Academy Lions

The Grovetown Warriors will challenge the Loganville Christian Academy Lions at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grovetown had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over North Oconee.

Josalyn Sergent was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Sergent was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Iman Wright was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabella Garcia, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Loganville Christian Academy posted their closest victory since September 19, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over North Oconee. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
