Recap: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Lincoln Hornets
The Mira Mesa Marauders came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 61-21 victory over Lincoln at home. Given Mira Mesa's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Lincoln is ranked 1187th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mira Mesa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Otero, who scored 17 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otero has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ivorii Seals, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Mira Mesa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Lincoln, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-21.
Mira Mesa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-23 victory vs. Patrick Henry on the 9th. Lincoln has also already played their next matchup, a 45-16 loss against University City on the 9th.
