Football Recap: Gunn Takes a Loss

The Gunn Titans came up short against the St. Francis Sharks on Saturday and fell 18-6. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Sharks are ranked 45th).

Maya Calfee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Francis, picking up 175 receiving yards and two scores. Calfee is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: she's posted at least 101 every time she's taken the field this season. Liliana Whitmeyer was another key player, throwing for 242 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of her passes.

Gunn now has a losing record of 3-4. As for St. Francis, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Gunn will host Sequoia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Francis, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-14 win against Salinas on the 20th.
