Baseball Game Preview: Waterville Panthers vs. Lawrence Bulldogs

The Waterville Panthers will square off against the Lawrence Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Waterville is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Waterville faced off against Belfast on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 12-6 to the Lions.

Felix Chapa made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Lawrence sidestepped Nokomis for a 2-1 victory. The two-run effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lawrence's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Waterville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
