Softball Recap: Lafayette Triumphs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette). Everything went their way against the Falls City Tigers on Thursday as they made off with a 15-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Lafayette's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Falls City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Lafayette will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stanberry at 5:00 p.m. on October 6. As for Falls City, they will face off against Freeman at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
