Baseball Recap: Monroe Extends Winning Streak to Two

With a playoff win on the line, Monroe rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Enumclaw Hornets on the board, marking their second-straight 1-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Caleb Campbell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Campbell was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Campbell wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joe Enrico, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Enumclaw, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Coming up, Monroe will challenge Kennewick at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bearcats 3.4, the Lions 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Enumclaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
