Basketball Game Preview: San Marino Titans vs. Temple City Rams

San Marino hasn't had much luck against Temple City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The San Marino Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Temple City Rams at 5:30 p.m. Temple City took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on San Marino, who comes in off a win.

San Marino is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Monrovia on Wednesday. San Marino blew past Monrovia 47-27.

Meanwhile, Temple City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Pasadena. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while the Tigers are ranked 214th).

San Marino will have to keep a close watch on Alexis Yoshimura and Kristi Huynh, a pair of players who had a big impact on Temple City's prior game. Yoshimura went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and six boards, while Huynh almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 36.7% of Temple City's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Temple City's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8. As for San Marino, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
