Volleyball Recap: Aztec Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Aztec lost against Kirtland Central back in October and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Broncos, falling 3-0. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12, 25-20.

Riley Yoakum paced Aztec's offense, picking up ten kills. Yoakum got some help from Jazzlyn Gomez and her 21 assists. Gomez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Aztec's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Kirtland Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Aztec will face off against rival Gallup at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kirtland Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Bloomfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
