Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Road Victories for Williams Valley

Williams Valley hadn't done well against Marian Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Williams Valley Vikings walked away with a 41-34 win over Marian Catholic. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Despite the defeat, Marian Catholic had strong showings from Addy Marek, who posted 11 points and six rebounds, and Deanna Pugh, who scored nine points along with six boards and three steals. Pugh has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Carley Hasara was another key player, putting up three points and three steals.

Williams Valley pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marian Catholic, their loss ended a 20-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams Valley has already played their next contest (against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marian Catholic will head out on the road to challenge Shenandoah Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
