Baseball Game Preview: Deerfield-Windsor Knights vs. Lakeside School Chiefs

Deerfield-Windsor is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Lakeside School is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will welcome the Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Deerfield-Windsor 3.6, Lakeside School 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Deerfield-Windsor fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tiftarea Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

The result came thanks to Carson Scott's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

Lakeside School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evangel Christian struck out seven times.

Lakeside School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 47-4 record this season. As for Deerfield-Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4-1.
