Basketball Recap: High Point Baptist Academy Eagles vs. New Covenant Christian Flames
Even though the High Point Baptist Academy Eagles have not done well against the New Covenant Christian Flames recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. High Point Baptist Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-31 victory over the Flames. The win made it back-to-back wins for High Point Baptist Academy.
Despite the loss, New Covenant Christian saw an underclassman step up: Qynne Demler scored 23 points. That was a full 74.2% of New Covenant Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miracle Hershey, who scored six points.
High Point Baptist Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for New Covenant Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
High Point Baptist Academy will head out on the road to take on the at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Linville Hill will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for New Covenant Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the at 6:00 p.m.
