Softball Recap: Freedom Christian Academy Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Freedom Christian Academy's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They blew past the Northwood Temple Academy Eagles 17-0. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Rylan Miller was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Lebron, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Freedom Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwood Temple Academy only posted an OBP of .462.

Freedom Christian Academy pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.8 runs. As for Northwood Temple Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Coincidentally, Freedom Christian Academy and Northwood Temple Academy will both be playing Village Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
