Softball Recap: Grinnell Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Grinnell entered their tilt with Mid-Prairie on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Golden Hawks a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grinnell pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mid-Prairie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grinnell will head out to take on West Delaware at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mid-Prairie, they will venture away from home to challenge Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
