Baseball Game Preview: Independence 76ers vs. Walnut Ridge Scots

The Independence 76ers will face off against the Walnut Ridge Scots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Independence has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Independence managed to slip by South the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The 76ers lost 14-4 to the Bulldogs on Wednesday.

Aaiden Bush made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Walnut Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Briggs.

Walnut Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Independence's way against Walnut Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Independence made off with a 13-3 victory. Do the 76ers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
