Baseball Recap: Crestline Gets the Win

Crestline proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Ridgedale Rockets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 21st.

Dawson Hefner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Auston Henson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Quentin Kapp was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Crestline's record is now 7-14. As for Ridgedale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3-1.

Coming up, Crestline will square off against Loudonville at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgedale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
