Basketball Game Preview: Elite Eagles vs. Esparto Spartans

The Elite Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Esparto Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Elite is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Delta 63-14. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-11.

Amaiya Seeberry was Elite's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Kendo Cook held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Esparto had to suffer through a 68-5 loss at the hands of Westlake Charter.

Elite's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Esparto, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Elite didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Esparto in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 34-30 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Esparto's Jeriann Moore, who posted 23 points.
