Football Recap: Burton Takes a Loss

If Burton was feeling good fresh off their 47-14 takedown of Milano last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 37-36 to the Iola Bulldogs. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Burton fell to 7-1. As for Iola, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Burton will host Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Iola, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bartlett at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. Bartlett will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
