Baseball Recap: Apalachee's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Apalachee proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Clarke Central Gladiators. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won four matches in a row.

JJ Gonzalez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Apalachee's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Clarke Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Apalachee will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clarke Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.
