Softball Recap: Sonoraville Phoenix vs. Calhoun Yellow Jackets
Sonoraville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Calhoun Yellow Jackets on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Phoenix in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won four in a row.

Sonoraville got a great performance from Lila Mullinax as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mullinax has posted since back in October of 2024.
At the plate, Cadence Mulkey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Sonoraville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 win against LaFayette on the 7th. As for Calhoun, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-4 victory against North Murray on the 8th.
