Softball Recap: Bloomingdale Victorious

Bloomingdale had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulls.

Natalie Cable spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Olivia Anderson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Bloomingdale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Coming up, Bloomingdale will challenge Bartow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulls 3.4, the Yellow Jackets 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Palm Beach Gardens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
