Mt. Hope's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Portsmouth Patriots 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Patriots back in April, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

The team relied heavily on Rhys Davies, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Trace Dubois, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mt. Hope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-16. As for Portsmouth, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mt. Hope will face off against rival La Salle Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Portsmouth is set to take on their familiar foe North Kingstown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
