Baseball Recap: Rossville Comes Up Short

If Rossville was feeling good fresh off their 17-4 takedown of Taylor on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers on Friday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Hornets, who until this game were averaging 3.65 runs allowed.

Andrew Woollen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Rossville's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for North Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Rossville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-6 win against West Lafayette on the 16th. As for North Montgomery, they have also already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against Lebanon on the 16th.
