Softball Recap: Lake Oconee Academy Takes a Loss

If Lake Oconee Academy was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Central Fellowship Christian Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Georgia Military College Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Grace Kalmanowicz and Beth Harris stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kalmanowicz went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Harris went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Lake Oconee Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Georgia Military College, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Lake Oconee Academy will face off against Social Circle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redskins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Georgia Military College, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Gatewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season.
