Softball Recap: Air Academy's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Air Academy barely beat Fountain-Fort Carson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kadets never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Saturday. Fans of the Kadets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Bailey Williams was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Williams was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Air Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fountain-Fort Carson only posted an OBP of .333.

The win (which was Air Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.3 runs this season. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Air Academy will challenge Kennedy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will take on Pueblo East in a tournament on Saturday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
