Volleyball Game Preview: Lufkin Panthers vs. Texas Tigers

The Lufkin Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Texas Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lufkin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Lufkin got the win against Jacksonville by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lufkin was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-6, 25-13.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Texas duked it out with Hallsville on Friday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Bobcats. The Tigers have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-19, 25-19.

Lufkin's win bumped their record up to 28-7. As for Texas, their loss dropped their record down to 18-15.

Everything went Lufkin's way against Texas in their previous matchup back in August, as Lufkin made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
