Football Recap: Skyridge Starts Season with Win at Home

Skyridge took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Mountain Ridge Sentinels 52-17. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Falcons had established a 21-point advantage.

Kaneal Sweetwyne went supernova, throwing for 385 yards and six TDs while completing 83.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 88 yards and one touchdown. Those 385 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Tahi, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Several Sentinels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxon Hunt, who rushed for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 250 yards on 23 of 47 attempts. A healthy portion of Hunt's aerial production (116 yards to be exact) went to Tytan Dejong.

Skyridge has already played their next contest, a 45-27 victory against Liberty on the 22nd. As for Mountain Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-7 win against Lehi on the 22nd.
