Basketball Game Preview: Gregori Jaguars vs. Enochs Eagles

Gregori is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Enochs is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Gregori Jaguars will welcome the Enochs Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Gregori challenged Modesto on Friday. Gregori breezed by Modesto to the tune of 61-20. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Enochs hadn't done well against Pitman recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Enochs came out on top against Pitman by a score of 44-37.

Enochs found their leader in sophomore Alivia Pierce, who posted 12 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Pierce a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Emilee Borges, who put up 12 points.

Enochs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matches.

Enochs is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Gregori, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.

Gregori was able to grind out a solid victory over Enochs in their previous meeting back in January, winning 53-41. Will Gregori repeat their success, or does Enochs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
