Football Game Preview: Harding Skippers vs. Catholic Central Crusaders

The Harding Skippers will square off against the Catholic Central Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Harding is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Friday, Harding blew past Grand Valley, posting a 42-6 victory. The Skippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 36 points or more this season.

Harding's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Lawson, who threw for 221 yards and two TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Lawson a new career-high in passer rating (159.7). Harding's leading receiver Yomar Castellano was Lawson's top target yet again, picking up 137 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

Harding didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Shane Greenwood and Castellano. With that strong performance, Castellano is now averaging an impressive 103.2 receiving yards per game.

Meanwhile, Catholic Central fell victim to Oak Glen and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Golden Bears, falling 28-0. Having soared to a lofty 51 points in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Harding, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
