Football Recap: Conway Springs Comes Up Short

Conway Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between the Cardinals and the Medicine Lodge Indians didn't end well, with the Cardinals falling 28-13. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Conway Springs lost, don't look at Logan Osner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 121 yards and one TD. Osner is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Joseph Howard also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Jack Schreiner had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries for Medicine Lodge. The dominant performance also gave Schreiner a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Braxx Farr got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Conway Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Medicine Lodge, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conway Springs will challenge Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Medicine Lodge, they will square off against Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
