Basketball Recap: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Extends Winning Streak to Three

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Rena Rasmussen. The Bears came out on top against the Ponca Indians by a score of 52-44 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Rasmussen, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 boards. Her big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

Ponca's loss came despite strong showings from Elsie Keller and Emerson Ehlers. Keller shot 45% from the field on her way to 14 points, while Ehlers posted six points and ten rebounds. Keller is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaelen Templeman, who put up 12 points.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ponca, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will take on Plainview in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ponca, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-47 defeat against Vermillion on the 18th.
